PRIMA CASA – PHASE I

Interior & Exterior – Brickell, Florida

This client came to us after a contractor failed to complete the work necessary to open their Montessori school. The previous contractor left the project in such a matter that we had to undo most of the work they completed and start over. The work entailed the alteration, renovation, and re-enforcing of an existing two-story building inclusive of flooring, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, new walls and ceilings. The building was altered to accommodate four classrooms each with bathrooms for Montessori students and staff. Seacoast worked closely with the interior designer to create the child-friendly atmosphere. There were fire department and Egress requirements which had to be met and the fire alarm system was also updated. The exterior of the building was given a lime-based paint and new windows were installed. The parking lot was re-paved and the drainage was adjusted. Lastly, new landscape was installed as was a new playground area.

Being satisfied with the results of phase 1 the client contracted with us for two additional buildings on this campus. One of the buildings was to house the administrative offices including reception area, library, cafeteria, and working kitchen. The other building was to house more classrooms with bathrooms, and included cabinetry systems to store children’s learning activities. Concrete restoration was required for both buildings due to structural failures. Both buildings received new windows, tile flooring, and lime-based paint on the exterior as well as new landscape. Fire alarm systems and security systems were also integrated. All of Phase II work was being completed while the Phase I building was fully operational with students and staff. Barriers were set up to separate construction-related work from parents, students, and staff.
