In the commercial construction industry, we’re used to getting thrown a few curveballs during the course of any given project – a change-order here, a materials delay there – but these are changes we aim to anticipate, and we build in a plan to account for them.
This year, however, it’s been more like a game of dodgeball where the curveballs keep coming and coming and coming.
As we find ourselves more than a half-year into the global pandemic, we’ve all had to make some serious adaptations to how we get work done. Effectively finding solutions to new challenges and health and safety requirements has tested us all, but at Seacoast Construction, we’re finding a way to continue successfully executing our projects with new policies and procedures in place to ensure that projects are still being completed as promised.
Here are some of the important steps we’ve been taking to follow-through on our commitments to our clients:
- Ensuring that we abide by any local government mandates and curfews as they arise.
- Maintaining social distance and limiting the amount of crewmembers or trades that can occupy the project site at a given time.
- Providing hand wash stations where none are available.
- Prioritizing the health and safety of all construction personnel.
- Communicating frequently and proactively to ensure stakeholders stay up-to-date on the project.
Importantly, we’ve relied heavily on the strengths of our project managers to do what they do best – maintain open lines of communication and execute superior project coordination. We are proud of how our team has continued to effectively manage clients’ needs, project budgets, timelines, and employee safety during a time of what feels like near-constant change.
As we’ve witnessed throughout the pandemic, projects don’t have to come to a stand-still. In fact, they shouldn’t. Keep your project on track, or even better, get ahead of the curve by planning ahead for future needs. If you have any questions about how we’re managing projects during the pandemic and how we can help you, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
